July 17th Seminar on OECD Tax Policy and the BEPS Project

July 17th Seminar on OECD Tax Policy and the BEPS Project

Posted on July 13, 2015 by CF&P

Cato Institute Seminar

The BEPS Project:
The OECD, Tax Policy, and U.S. Competitiveness

B-338 Rayburn House Office Building

Friday, July 17th, at 12PM
Lunch Included

Dominated by Europe’s welfare states, the Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has been pushing policies to enable higher taxes and bigger government. The latest example is a base erosion and profit-shifting (BEPS) initiative that would raise business tax burdens and undermine the competitiveness of American firms operating in global markets. An expert panel will explain the new OECD scheme and outline a better policy approach.

Featuring…

David R. Burton, Senior Fellow in Economic Policy, Heritage Foundation

Brian Garst, Director, Policy and Communications, Center for Freedom and Prosperity

Gavin Ekins, Research Economist, Tax Foundation

… Moderated by Daniel J. Mitchell, Senior Fellow, Cato Institute
