The Center for Freedom and Prosperity has lost a valued friend and fellow warrior for liberty. CF&P Board member John Blundell died Tuesday, July 22, 2014. In addition to his role at CF&P, Blundell served as President of the Institute for Humane Studies (1988-1991), President of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation (1987-1991), and President of the Charles G. Koch Claude R. Lambe Charitable Foundations (1991–1992). He was also Director General of the Institute of Economic Affairs, and served on the board of the the Institute for Human Studies and the Institute of Economic Studies.
His abilities as a communicator, organizer, and institution builder were unrivaled, but John Blundell was also an accomplished historian. His publications included Margaret Thatcher: A Portrait of the Iron Lady (2008) and Ladies For Liberty: Women Who Made a Difference in American History (2011), and a collection of essays in Waging the War of Ideas (2001).
